What is Ok To Board?
"Ok to Board" (OTB) is a verification step some airlines run before letting you check in for a UAE-bound flight. It was introduced after airlines and Dubai immigration found passengers — particularly on routes from South Asia — travelling on forged UAE visas, and airlines became responsible for confirming every visa before departure.
In practice it means your airline marks your booking as "Ok to Board" in its system once your visa is verified as genuine. If that flag isn't set, the airline can refuse boarding even when your visa is perfectly valid — which is why, when you get your visa through Emirates Visa Online, we update the OTB status with your airline as part of the service. Just share your ticket details with our support team at least 24–48 hours before departure.
